IETE Exam Schedule is 15 to 22 June and 15 to 22 December.
The IETE conducts both the Graduateship (AMIETE) Examination in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology streams and Diploma (DIPIETE) Examination in Electronics & Telecommunication and Computer Science & Engineering streams. A pass in AMIETE Examination is recognised by Government of India for the purposes of recruitment to superior posts and services under the Central Government while a pass in Diploma Level (DIPIETE) Examination is recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India for the purpose of employment to posts & services under the Central Government in the appropriate field.
Important Dates:
(1) Dates for exam Form filling:
(a) Without late fee- upto 05th Nov
(b) With late fee of Rs. 500/-- upto 10th Nov
(c) With late fee of Rs. 1000/-- upto 15th Nov
(d) With late fee of Rs. 1500/-- upto 20th Nov
(e) With late fee of Rs. 5000/-- After 20th Nov
(2) Fee for any type of correction in exam form after submission
(a) Upto 30th Nov- Rs. 500/-
(b) From 1st Dec to 10th Dec- Rs.1000/-
(c) After 10th Dec- Rs. 2500/-
Centres where theory and practical exams are expected to be held
Note: Students have to choose his/her registered Centre or geographically nearest Centre for exam, from the following list. Exam will not be held at Centres where number of students x subjects registered for exam is less than 60. In such cases students will be allotted geographically nearest Centre. However practical exams can be conducted at Centre if it is cancelled due to less registration of students.

Student has to appear theory and practical exams at one Centre only.
Student must register and pay fees for Lab/Project/Seminar/Viva subjects at the centre, but fill these subjects in the exam form. Students will be allowed to appear in practical exams only if these subjects are reflected in their admit card.
Student must confirm his/her eligibility to appear in Theory/Lab/Project/Seminar subject before filling in the exam form or registering with the Centre for Lab/Project/Seminar.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR APPEARING IN DIFFERENT SECTIONS / PRACTICAL EXAMS - CURRENT (2010) SCHEME
AMIETE : 10+2 HOLDERS
Section A subjects, Lab I and Lab II: No restriction
Section B subjects: Student should have passed a minimum of 6 theory subjects and at least one Lab of Sec A with GPA 5 or more only for theory. Student should have completed a minimum of one and half year from the date of enrolment.
Lab III and Lab IV: No restriction (provided that the student is eligible for section B)
Seminar: Student should have passed a minimum of 12 theory subjects and at least two Labs with GPA 5 or more only for theory. Student should have completed a minimum of three years from the date of enrolment.
Note:
Students can appear for maximum 2 Labs in one exam.
Students, who have completed 3 & half years of AMIETE from the date of enrollment, can appear for Seminar Examination without any restriction.
AMIETE : Diploma HOLDERS
Section A subjects, Lab I and Lab II: No restriction
Section B subjects: Student should have passed a minimum of 6 theory subjects and at least one Lab of Sec A with GPA 5 or more only for theory. Student should have completed a minimum of one year from the date of enrolment.
Lab III and Lab IV: No restriction (provided that the student is eligible for section B)
Seminar: Student should have passed a minimum of 12 theory subjects and at least two Labs with GPA 5 or more only for theory. Student should have completed a minimum of two years from the date of enrolment.
Note:
Students can appear for maximum 2 Labs in one exam.
Students, who have completed 2 & half years from the date of enrollment, can appear for Seminar Examination without any restriction.
AMIETE SUBJECTS: AMIETE examination is divided in two Sections with 20 theory papers and a project work. Each Section is divided in two parts viz. Part-I and Part-II. The distribution of subjects is as under:
SECTION A
PART-I : Six subjects (all compulsory)
PART-II : Five subjects (all compulsory)
SECTION B
PART-I : Five subjects (all compulsory)
PART-II : Four subjects (2 compulsory +2 electives)
PROJECT WORK : Compulsory
seminar : Compulsory
EXAMINATION APPLICATIONS: Applications to appear in any of the subjects of the AMIETE Examination must be made on the prescribed Examination Form and accompanied by the requisite examination fee. General Instructions for filling Examination Applications are given in the Syllabus. No action will be taken on an incomplete application. Students are advised to ensure that they have filled all the columns and have enclosed relevant documents. Further, change of subjects, once opted will not be allowed.
EXAMINATION FEE: Candidates are to submit their Examination Application form along with the fee given in the syllabus. The fee may get revised from time to time and the students are required to submit their application form along with the latest fee structure in force. Examination fees once paid are neither refundable nor transferable to a subsequent examination on any account.
LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF EXAMINATION APPLICATION: The last dates for receipt of Examination Applications at the IETE HQ office for June and December examinations is 25 April and 25 October respectively or as notified separately. After these dates, Examination Applications will be considered up to 10 May and 10 November with late fee of Rs.1500/-. Any application received beyond these dates will be rejected, irrespective of date of bank draft for the fee.
DATE SHEET: The examination schedule is 15-22 June and 15-22 December and will be conducted on all days including holidays and Sundays. The sequence of the papers of exams is listed in respective Syllabi.
ADMIT CARD: Admit Cards will be sent to all the candidates to reach them by about 30th of May/November. In the case of non-receipt of Admit-Card by these dates, the candidate must get in touch with the Examination Centre & IETE HQ and obtain permission to sit in the examination. No complaint in respect of non-receipt of Admit Card will be entertained once the Examination is over.
RESULTS: Results of the examinations will be announced on 25 September/25 March for the June and December Examinations respectively and communicated to the candidates through Result Sheets separately. Result will also be available on IETE Website (www.iete.org).
