Admission to Manipal University is through the online entrance examination, which is held at centres all over India.

Instructions:

The online entrance test is simple to get through.
We assume that the applicant taking the online test has a basic familiarity with computers and is comfortable with the use of keyboard and mouse.

ONLINE TEST BOOKING SYSTEM

i. The online test booking system is a web based online scheduling system available on www.manipal.edu.

ii. You can check out the test centres here and book yourself for the online test at a centre, date and time of your choice.

iii. The schedule bookings are done on first-come-first-served basis and are subject to availability.

E-Hall Ticket:

The e-hall ticket is important because it has your e-hall ticket number, the course/s you have applied for, address of the test centre, and the date and time of your test.

The system generates the e-hall ticket 24 hours after you have booked your schedule through the online test booking system.

It is issued to applicants who book their slots using the online test booking system before the booking end date for respective courses as per the booking schedule.

If there are any discrepancies, please do not hesitate to bring it to our notice.

You can get your e-hall ticket from here www.manipalotbs.com. To do that you will need to specify your application form number and online test booking password to download it.

A copy of your e-hall ticket will also be emailed to you. (Please be sure to provide the correct email address in your application form).

Online Entrance Test:

It is conducted in English and we expect our applicants to have a working knowledge of English.

The individual computers at various test centres are connected to a central server, which delivers the test in real time.

The test consists of multiple choice questions (MCQ type). In this, for each given question, the applicant must choose the right, or the closest, answer from among the choices given.

SCORING and NEGATIVE MARKING

For MTech, MSc Tech: Each question carries four marks. A correct answer will be awarded four marks; a wrong answer will result in a one-mark deduction; unanswered questions will receive no marks.

Other courses: Each question carries one mark. A correct answer will be awarded one mark; a wrong answer or unanswered questions will be awarded no marks.

The final score will be displayed on the screen immediately after the completion of the test.

The candidate should acknowledge the score in the printout of the score card in the presence of the invigilator.

Merit List date: 23.05.2017

Syllabus: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General English include questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards /Universities.

Test Pattern:

Group 2: (Applicable to BTech/ BPharm/ PharmD courses). Duration- 2.30 hours, Questions-200 (MCQ). The approximate distribution of questions is as follows:

Physics -50, Chemistry-50, Mathematics-70, English & General Aptitude-30.

Merit List:

General Category: Based on the marks obtained in MU-OET, Manipal University will declare a list of all candidates appeared for the entrance test on or before 23.05.2017 in the website. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the order of preference as under:

Mathematics in MU-OET 2017
Physics in MU-OET 2017
Chemistry in MU-OET2017
PCM marks in 10+2

In case marks secured in the above are equal, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher.
