ADMISSION NOTIFICATION - 2018
The National Law University, Delhi established in 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 is premier Law University established in the capital city of India. The University invites applications for admission to B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes for the Academic Year 2018-19 commencing from August, 2018.
Eligibility:
B.A., LL.B. (Hons.):
i. All candidates, other than those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, should appear for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and selection shall be solely on that basis.
ii. Candidates should score at least 40% of the marks in the AILET (30% for SC/ ST candidates)
iii. In order to appear for the AILET, candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination and scored a minimum of 50%. However, candidates appearing for 10+2 examinations in the year of the AILET can also apply, provided they meet the above eligibility at the time of admission.
LL.M.: LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). The candidates appearing in final year LL.B. Examination in April/May, 2018 can also apply.

Reservation:
B.A., LL.B. (Hons.):
i. 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities.
ii Note: One additional seat for kashmiri migrants. Two supernumerary seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir.
LL.M. : 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 5% for Persons with Disabilities.
Seats:
B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)- 5-Year Programme
i. The University admits 80students every year to the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)
ii. 10 seats are set aside for Foreign Nationals.
iii. Of the remaining seats (70), 15% are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe, 5% for Persons with Disabilities.
iv. Apart from above 3 seats are supernumerary as follows:
v. 1 seat is reserved for migrants from Kashmir.
vi. 2 seats are reserved for residents of Jammu and Kashmir
LL.M.-One-Year Programme: 35+5 Seats for Foreign Nationals. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET (No. of seats may vary).
Ph.D.-Programme: 05
Admission Procedure:
Admission to B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes will be through AILET to be conducted at Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, and Varanasi on May 6, 2018 (Sunday).
Interested candidates should apply only online on payment of Rs.3,050/- (Rupees Three Thousand Fifty Only) for General Candidates, Rs.1,050/- (Rupees One thousand Fifty only) in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PD) along with copy of requisite Caste/Persons with Disabilities Certificate. Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC/ST Category are exempted from application fee. Previous Years’ Question Papers: Old Question Papers of Entrance Test of B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) Programme from the year 2010 to 2017 are available on the counter at NLU, Delhi for sale on payment of Rs. 500/- by Credit /Debit Cards or through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 550/- in favour of Registrar, National Law University Delhi payable at New Delhi. Pattern of the Test Paper
Total Marks : 150 Marks
Total Number of Questions : 1 hour 30 minutes
Subject Areas and Marks Distribution
English : 35 Marks
General Knowledge (Current Affairs, General Science, History, Geography, Economics, Civics) : 35 Marks
Legal Aptitude : 35 Marks
Reasoning : 35 Marks
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) : 10 Marks
LL.M.:
There are 100 multiple choice Objective Type Questions of one mark each which has to be answered in the OMR Sheet.
There is One Essay Question of 50 Marks which has to be answered in Separate Sheet.
Ph.D.: There are 100 multiple choice Objective Type Questions of one mark each which has to be answered in the OMR Sheet.
Negative marking: There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2018. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark.
