ADMISSION TO 3 YEAR LL.B DEGREE COURSE

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:

(a) Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed any Bachelor’s Degree Course (Regular/Private/OUS) of any University recognized by University Grants Commission and should have secured not less than 45% of marks (in aggregate). Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities should have secured 40% of marks in aggregate in the qualifying degree course.

For purpose of ranking, marks obtained in the Major and Allied subjects alone will be taken into account. [G.O.Ms.No.83, Law (LS) Department, dtd. 19-04-2007]

(b) Age limit for admission: No age limit.

(c) Employed candidates are not eligible to apply.

(d) The Transgender or Eunuch (Thirunangai or Aravani) candidates are included under Most Backward Class and such candidates are required to shade the brackets 3 in the column 4 as well as 4 in the column 6 in the OMR sheet.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME: The duration of the 3 year LL.B. Degree Course offered in the Ten Government Law Colleges affiliated to the Law University is three academic years. Non-semester system will be followed during the first academic year of the course and semester system will be followed from the second to final year of the course.

Eligibility Certificate: Candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examinations of Universities other than the deemed Universities in Tamil Nadu or through Distance Education Mode and have been selected and allotted will be admitted to the course only on production of Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai on production of (i) a requisition letter addressed to the Registrar, (ii) copy of selection & allotment letter and (iii) Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) whereas Rs.600/- for Other State Universities drawn in favour of “The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University”, payable at Chennai.

ADMISSION TO 5 YEAR B.A. LL.B. DEGREE COURSE

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:

The eligibility criteria for admission, is as per the Bar Council of India Regulations-2009 and State Government Norms. The eligibility norms as prescribed by the University and approved by the Syndicate are as follows:

(a) Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) (or) equivalent examinations and should have secured not less than 45% of marks (in aggregate). Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities should have secured 40% of marks (in aggregate).

(b) As per G.O.(Ms.) No.418, Law (LS) Department, dated 03.07.2012, on the basis of merit list 4% of the total seats have been allotted to the Higher Secondary Course (+2) Vocational Stream candidates.

(c) Age limit for admission: No age limit.

(d) Employed candidates are not eligible to apply.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME: The duration of the 5 year B.A.LL.B. Degree Course offered in the Nine Government Law Colleges affiliated to the Law University is five academic years.

Eligibility Certificate: Candidates who have passed the +2 or equivalent examinations under CBSC/ISE or from States other than Tamil Nadu, if selected and allotted to any Government Law Colleges will be admitted to the course only on production of Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai by making a request along with payment of fee by way of (i) a requisition letter addressed to the Registrar, (ii) copy of selection & allotment letter and (iii) Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) drawn in favour of “The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University”, payable at Chennai.

3 YEAR LL.B & 5 YEAR B.A. LL.B. COURSES:

Application Fee:
In person : SC/ST - Rs.250/- ; Others - Rs.500/-
By Post : SC/ST - Rs.350/- ; Others - Rs.600/-

Application Form for Admission:

The candidates desirous of applying for 3 year LL.B. Degree and 5 year B.A.LL.B. Degree Courses offered in the affiliated Government Law Colleges can obtain the application form by paying the prescribed fee, from “The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, ‘Poompozhil’, No.5, Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Salai, Chennai –600 028”. Application forms can also be obtained in - person from the respective Principals of the affiliated Government Law Collegesand for the Government Law Colleges of Villupuram, Dharmapuri and Ramanathapuram the applications can be obtained in person from the respective Collector Office by paying the prescribed fee.

The candidates desirous to get application by post can obtain the application form by submitting a requisition letter, mentioning the course to which they wish to apply, along with the requisite fee remittance challan addressed to the “The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, ‘Poompozhil’, No.5, Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Salai, Chennai – 600 028”.

Mode of Payment of Application Fee: The candidates shall remit the prescribed application processing fee in any branch of Indian Bank through remittance challan which may be downloaded from the University website or obtained from any one of the affiliated Government Law Colleges.

Publication of Rank List: The applications will be scrutinized and the Rank List will be published in the notice boards of the University and its affiliated Government Law Colleges. It can also be browsed on the University’s website www.tndalu.ac.in.
