CONDUCTING UNIVERSITY - OSMANIA UNIVERSITY, HYDERABAD
Telangana State Law common Entrance Test is conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). It is a state level entrance exam which is conducted in the month of May. Every year, a number of students appears the TS LAWCET exam to get admission into 3-years and 5-years UG law courses. On the basis of this exam, students can get admission in the various government and private universities of the state. TS LAWCET 2018 examination will be held on 25th May 2018.
Courses Offered:
(i) LLB 3 Year Degree Course
(ii) LLB (B.A. LL.B) 5 Year Degree Course
Eligibility:
For 3 year LL.B Course: Candidates for 3 year LLB should have passed any Graduate Degree (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other exam recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned. If any candidate secured less than 45% in graduation, he should have passed any additional graduation or post graduation with 45%.
For 5 year LLB Course: Candidates for 5 year LLB should have passed two year Intermediate Exam (10+2 pattern) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other exam recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, T.S and Bar Council of India.
Age Limit: Subject to the conditions stipulated by the Govt. of T.S & BCI, in this behalf, the maximum age limit for a candidate seeking admission into the 3-year/5-year LLB Course shall be 30 years and 20 years (relaxable by two years in case of SCs/STs) respectively.
Exam Pattern: The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability and aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120 and the duration of test is 90 minutes, Maximum marks are 120.
Part-A: General Knowledge and Mental Ability - 30 Questions - 30 Marks
Part-B: Current Affairs - 30 Questions - 30 Marks
Part-C: Aptitude for the Study of Law - 60 Questions - 60 Marks
Medium of Entrance Test: The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu.
Syllabus: The test basically assess the candidate’s ability to pursue study of law. Students knowledge on the basic principles of law and constitution of India will be tested. Questions from general knowledge and current affairs will also be asked in the examination.
