Admission to MBA Program (Session 2017-19)

Eligibility Criteria for MBA

1. Graduate Degree in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA or grade from recognized University/Institute.

OR
Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA or grade from recognized University/Institute.

OR
A Graduate Degree with a pass in all parts/sections of the Intermediate examination of CA/ICWA/ACS.

Candidates having extraordinary managerial/leadership potential demonstrated through atleast one year of experience are exempt from having 50% marks in their graduation/post-graduation.

2. Candidate must have valid CAT/NMAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT/GRE/TU test score.

Admission Process:

1. Candidates nedd to apply online for the MBA admission. The online application form is available at www.thapar.edu.

2. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT/NMAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT/GRE/TU Entrance exam scores.

3. Final selection will be based on CAT/NMAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT/GRE/TU entrance exam, GD and PI performance.

Important Dates:

Last date for applying: 15th February, 2017
Short listing of candidates: 20th February, 2017
TU's Entrance Test, GD & PI: New Delhi - 05th March, 2017* / Dera Bassi Campus - 26th March, 2017*
Intimation to selected candidates: 31st March, 2017
Final Counselling and Fee Deposit: 15th April, 2017

* GD & PI will be conducted by Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology University (Dera Bassi Campus). The candidates are requested to plan travel only after receiving intimation of shortlisting on their registered E-mail address.

Total no. of questions - 90
Duration of Test - 60 minutes

The Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology University test will comprise of the followings:

Mathematical Aptitude - 20 questions
Reading Comprehension - 20 questions
Analytical and Logical Reasoning - 20 questions
General Awareness - 30 questions

Students need to be familiar with 10th std maths and english language usage. Students are also expected to be aware of the socio-economic environment.
