Entrance Examination for Admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) - 2017
Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Nursing (M.Sc.Nursing) 2017 in the Government Nursing Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Thrissur, Alappuzha, Kozhikode and government seats in various Self Financing colleges in the following Specialties.
[i] Medical Surgical Nursing
[ii] Community Health Nursing
[iii] Child Health Nursing
[iv] Obstetrics & Gynecology Nursing
[v] Mental Health Nursing
Eligibility for Admission:
(a) Academic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing (Regular) of Kerala, Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi, Cochin, Kannur University and KUHS or regular course of other Universities recognized by KUHS. Candidates who have passed the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (Regular) of Kerala, Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi, or Kannur University and KUHS or regular course of other Universities recognized by KUHS after acquiring the General Nursing and Midwifery Course are also eligible to apply. Candidates who have passed B.Sc Degree in Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (Regular) from universities outside Kerala & any of the Deemed Universities, should produce the equivalency certificate from any university in Kerala at the time of counseling.
(b) Nativity: Applicants should have satisfied any of the following conditions:
(i) Indian Citizen of Kerala Origin.
(ii) Candidates, who are sons/daughters of Non-Keralite parents and have obtained B.Sc. Nursing degree from any of the Nursing Colleges in Kerala State.
(iii) Candidates who are not of Kerala origin but have been a resident of Kerala for a period of not less than 5 years.
Non Keralite applicants will not be eligible for community /Persons with Disability (PD) reservation benefits.
(c) Experience: Candidate should have completed one year of experience in any hospital with an average bed strength of 100 inpatients or in a recognized School of Nursing or in a Community Health Centre or internship/Compulsory Nursing Service after registration with the Kerala Nursing Council on the date of notification of inviting application ie. on 06.07.2017
Note:-
[a] The experience acquired by candidates after registration from Nursing Councils outside Kerala, after getting B.Sc. Nursing Degree will also be counted for experience.
[b] The period undergone by a candidate for completing the Post Basic Nursing Course will not be reckoned as work experience. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is essential
[c] The experience acquired after the completion of the General Nursing & Midwifery Course but before acquiring the B.Sc. Nursing Degree will be counted for the required experience.
Applicants should have obtained registration with Kerala Nursing Council at the time of Counseling.
Age: The upper age limit for General candidates shall be 46 years and that for Service candidates shall be 49 years as on the date of notification of inviting application. (06-07-2017)
Mode of Selection: All Candidates including Service Quota candidates shall have to appear for the Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala at Thiruvananthapuram on 06.08.2017 The Entrance examination will be of 2½ hours duration with 200 Multiple Choice Questions. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala will publish the rank list with all General / category candidates who appeared in the Entrance Examination based on their marks in the Entrance Examination.
How to apply: All candidates including Service candidates seeking admission to the PG Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) Courses- 2017 can apply in the Online application form available from 07-07-2017 to 15-07-2017 in the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in of the CEE. While applying online candidates should upload the scanned image of his /her latest photograph, signature and all the required documents /certificates as per the instructions given in the Prospectus. No need to send the print out of the application or any supporting documents to the office of the commissioner for entrance examination. The application form and Prospectus will not be available from any Nursing Colleges or from the CEE.
Application Fee: All candidates including Service candidates shall remit the required fee either by online payment gateway using internet banking/credit card/debit card or by using e-chalan payment in any of the Head /Sub Post Office. Application Fee for General / Service candidates is Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) and in the case of SC/ST candidates the application fee is Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only). Application fee once remitted will not be refunded. Service Quota candidates seeking admission in general quota also, should pay an extra amount of Rs. 1000/-(Rupees One Thousand Only).
Admit Cards: Admit cards for the candidates whose Applications have been accepted will be provided in the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee.kerala.gov.in from 24.07.2017 (Monday) onwards.
Entrance Examination: The scheme of entrance examination, syllabus and the instructions to the candidates are available in clause 9 of the “Prospectus for Admission to PG Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) -2017” approved by Government of Kerala
Rank List: CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination and publish the Rank list of General Merit candidates and the list of qualified candidates under Service Quota as per the provisions in clause 11 of the Prospectus for Admission to PG Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) -2017 approved by Government of Kerala. Service quota candidates have to qualify by securing 40% marks in the Entrance Examination to include in the Service quota.
The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be made by CEE through the Centralised Allotment Process as per clause 12 of the Prospectus for Admission to PG Nursing-2017 approved by Government of Kerala.
Candidates may go through the “Prospectus for Admission to PG Nursing -2017”, approved by the Government of Kerala, which is available in the official web site of the Commissioner for Entrance Examination at www.cee-kerala.org before submitting their online applications.
