CHRISTIAN MEDICAL COLLEGE LUDHIANA MBBS/BDS 2017

The Christian Medical College Ludhiana is a Christian Educational and Research Institution established, maintained and administered by the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society (regd.) of Christian Churches and Christian agencies.

The Christian Medical College offers Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, Postgraduate Degrees, Super-specialty Degrees and Doctoral courses. The Christian Medical College, Ludhiana is a recognized institution by Medical Council of India. Each year 75 students, men and women, are admitted to the MBBS course.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

Admission to MBBS and BDS courses of this institution, are on the basis of eligibility and merit obtained in the NEET (UG) 2017. All the admissions are made with the approval of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Punjab, to which Christian Medical College and Christian Dental College are affiliated, and selection guidelines of the Christian Medical College, Ludhiana. Christian Medical College is recognized by the Medical Council of India and Christian Dental College by the Dental Council of India.

The primary aim of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana is to make a significant contribution to the health standards of all communities of our nation with a special emphasis on health care in the rural underserved and unreached areas/communities in India. This mandate is fulfilled by our graduates who serve in such areas after their training.

In keeping with the mandate of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society to reach out to all states with emphasis on the rural underserved and unreached areas / communities of our nation, to provide training facilities to candidates who will dedicate themselves to the healthcare of these states they represent, which would otherwise have been deprived, seats in MBBS and BDS have been earmarked area-wise from States and Union territories.

Open Category: Any candidate irrespective of religion, caste, or domicile and who is an Indian National, can apply under this category. They will not have a service agreement but are encouraged to serve in the rural mission hospitals to understand the basic needs of the country. All Open category students need to apply to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences only.

Christian Minority with Service Commitment Category: The Christian candidates applying in this category should clearly indicate this in the application form and correctly fill the domicile field. Such an application has to be endorsed by one of the member bodies of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, as per list. These candidates are required to apply to the respective member body with the format available with them and submit a Letter of Service Commitment issued by this member body of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society to the Registrar, CMC Ludhiana. Such candidates will have to take a Bible Test. These candidates are encouraged to serve in the rural mission hospitals to understand the basic needs of the countr.

Admission will be entirely on merit, based on the NEET (UG) 2017 by BFUHS. Please see BFUHS website for details.

Candidates for admission in 'Christian Minority with Service Commitment Category‘ should apply to BFUHS. Such candidates should also apply to CMC Ludhiana with the self-attested copies of the following certificates which should be uploaded along with the application form. The original certificates must be available at the time of scrutiny of certificates otherwise the candidature will be cancelled.

1) Baptism certificate

2) Letter from the Pastor in-charge of the church regarding church membership with dates

3) A 'Letter of Service Commitment‘ from Body/Church of the CMC Ludhiana Society, signed by the authorized signatoryonly. This should reach the Office of the Registrar by 27th June 2017.

4) (a) Candidates with service commitment will serve in the Mission Hospitals of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society for a minimum period of 2 years for MBBS and 1 year for BDS. They are to submit the sworn in affidavit of service, duly notarized along with the application form.

(b) Further, the said candidates are required to submit the completed Service Commitment form, (format is available with the members of CMC Ludhiana Society), at the time of admission, failing which admission will not be considered in that category.

5) Domicile certificate (Only for applicants in "Christian Minority with Service Commitment Category‟) issued and certified by the competent authority.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

A candidate for admission to MBBS and BDS must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together (40% for SC/BC) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination (10+2 examination). In addition all candidates should have qualified in NEET (UG) 2017. Candidates are required to go through the prospectus of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences for General eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS and BDS courses.

NRI Candidates: are to apply to BFUHS intimating the choice of college. Those interested in joining CMC Ludhiana, having qualified in NEET (UG) 2017 are advised to send a copy of their submitted BFUHS application form to the Registrar, CMC Ludhiana.

HOW TO SUBMIT APPLICATION: All NEET qualified candidates; Open General, "Christian Minority with Service Commitment", SC/ST, BC and NRI are advised to apply to Baba Farid university of Health Sciences (State Counselling Authority), as per the details given on their website, by the due date.
