For Admission to MBBS & BDS Courses Session 2017-18

The Himachal Pradesh University will be conducting the counselling on behalf of the Government of Himachal Pradesh (Department of Medical Education & Research) through Counselling Committee constituted by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh vide Notification No.HFW-B(B)-12-4/2013-I-Loose(Part) dated 15.03.2016 and subsequent Corrigendum of even number dated 19.03.2016 under the Chairmanship of the Director Medical Education & Research, Himachal Pradesh for filling-up of State and Management/NRI Quota seats in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges including private un-aided Medical/Dental Colleges of the State of Himachal Pradesh on the basis of qualified candidates of NEET-UG-2017 conducted by the CBSE, Delhi. The said qualified candidates are required to apply online only by using the website of the University within stipulated period. The rules & regulations as contained in the prospectus have been framed/approved by the Government of Himachal Pradesh keeping in view of the guidelines of Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India for admission to MBBS/BDS courses. This Counseling will be conducted for 85% State Quota Seats which includes the reserved seats of Children of J& K Migrants, Children of Tibetan Refugees and NRI in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges.

(i) M.B.B.S. : 5 ½ years
(ii) B.D.S. : 5 Years

Fee Details:

For General/NRI & Other Categories: Rs. 1600/
For SC/ST Categories: Rs.800/-
For IRDP/BPL: Rs.800/-

Last Date for Submission of Online Application Form: 10.07.2017

MERIT LIST:

i. H.P. University will draw and notify a combined as well as category–wise merit list on the basis of All India merit ranking of NEET-UG-2017 of the qualified candidates who have submitted their application form online only complete in all respects and has obtained the print out of confirmation copy of the said online form within stipulated period as mentioned in the prospectus. The new ranks in order of merit willbe assigned to the candidates in the merit list to be notified by the University for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges including private un-aided Medical/Dental Colleges for filling up 85% and 50% seats under State Quota and Management Quota seats in private un-aided Medical/Dental Colleges, as the case, may be. The said merit list will be available on the University Website www.hpuniv.nic.in, www.hpuniv.in or www.admissions.hpushimla.in. The candidates are advised to check their new merit rank and attend the counselling as per schedule to be notified with the merit list separately.

ii. Candidates will be considered in order of merit drawn by the H.P. University for admission to MBBS/BDS courses under State/Management Quota in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges including private Medical/Dental Colleges, as the case, may be, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria of the prospectus. Provided further, that the candidates who do not fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria for State Quota seats will be considered in order of merit under management quota seats only in private medical/dental colleges, if otherwise they are interested.

iii. In case, the seats in the State Quota remains vacant even after exhausting the merit list, then the Himachali Bonafide/Domicile candidates only, if admitted under Management Quota will be converted into State Quota to fill up the vacant seats under State Quota in order of merit category-wise. The candidates so admitted/converted against such seats shall be charged the fee payable by the State Quota candidates.
