The Goa Public Service Commission is a body created by the Constitution of India. The Commission advises the Government on all matters relating to State Civil Services referred to it under Article 320 (3) of the Constitution.

Function:

1. To conduct examinations for appointments to the civil services of the State of Goa.

2. The Goa Public Service Commission shall be consulted by the State:

(a) on all matters relating to methods of recruitments to civil services and for civil posts;

(b) on the principles to be followed in making appointments to civil services posts and in making promotions and transfers from one service to another and on the suitability of candidates for such appointments, promotions or transfers;

(c) on all disciplinary matters affecting a person serving under the Government of a Goa in a civil capacity, including memorials or petitions relating to such matters;

(d) on any claim by or in respect of a person who is serving or has served under the Government of Goa, in a civil capacity, that any costs incurred by him in defending legal proceedings instituted against him in respect of acts done or purporting to be done in the execution of his duty should be paid out of the Consolidated Fund of the State;

(e) on any claim for the award of a pension in respect of injuries sustained by a person while serving under the Government of Goa , in a civil capacity, and any question as to the amount of any such award;

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:

Application Form:

a) The applicant should visit the Goa Public Service Commission web site www.goapsc.gov.in or Computer Based Examination Portal www.goaonlineexam.com and should register himself/herself. The applicant should note down the computer generated UserID and Password for future use. Once the registration is complete the applicant may proceed to fill the application form online.

b) Before filling the application, the applicant shall scan the self–passport size photograph and his/her signature as per prescribed specification.

c) Separate application should be submitted for each post, in case the candidate applies for more than one post.

d) The Commission shall not accept application form in any other mode other than online.

Application Fee: The application fee for various categories of candidates shall be as under

General Category candidates : Rs.1000/-
SC, ST, OBC (Caste Certificate issued from State of Goa only) : Rs.500/-
PH and EX-Servicemen : Rs.500/-

AGE RELAXATION: The Upper age limit shown against each post is relaxable upto 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST, upto 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC, upto 5 years to blind, deaf–mute and orthopedically handicapped person (total 10 years for SC/ST & 8 years for OBC in respect of posts reserved for them) and upto 5 years for CFF. Age is relaxable for Government Servants upto 5 years as per the instructions issued by the Government from time to time.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The candidates should satisfy himself/herself abou this eligibility for the post applied for. The Commission would consider the applications of the candidates applying for the post with the requisite fee and on the basis of the information furnished in the online application and shall determine their eligibility only at the time of interview after verifying all the original documents.

MEDICAL FITNESS: Selected candidates are subject to medical test prescribed by the Government, before their appointment. Ifhe /she is found to be medically unfit for the post, he/she will not be eligible for appointment by the Government though selected by the Commission.
